There are weeks when I know exactly what I want to share with you.
This isn’t one of them.
Because the truth is, I don’t know what you need this week.
Maybe you need peace. Maybe you need a little joy. Maybe you’re grieving something—or someone. Maybe you’re fighting a battle nobody knows about. Maybe you just need to be reminded that God loves you and you’re going to be okay.
So instead of deciding for you, this week’s Light Work is a little different.
Take What You Need. 🤍
You don’t have to read every word. Find what speaks to where you are today, take it with you, and leave the rest for another time.
And if you need more than one?
Take that too. 😂
If You Need Peace
Take the reminder that peace doesn’t always mean everything around you has settled. Sometimes peace is knowing that even in the middle of uncertainty, God is still with you.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” — John 14:27
If You Need Comfort
You don’t have to pretend that everything is okay. God meets us in the places that hurt, and He is near when our hearts feel especially heavy.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
If You Need Joy
Joy doesn’t require you to ignore what’s difficult. Give yourself permission to notice the small, good things God has placed around you—even in a hard season.
“Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5
If You Need Love
You are loved—not because of what you’ve accomplished, how well you’ve handled this season, or what you can offer.
You are simply loved.
“Nothing… will be able to separate us from the love of God.” — Romans 8:38–39
If You Need Strength for the Fight
Some battles require strength you simply don’t have on your own. That doesn’t mean you’re losing. It might mean it’s time to stop depending solely on your own strength.
“No weapon forged against you will prevail.” — Isaiah 54:17
If You Need Victory
What you see right now isn’t necessarily the end of the story. Keep going. Keep trusting. Keep believing that God can still turn things around.
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” — Romans 8:37
If You’re Grieving
There is no timeline for grief and no perfect way to carry it.
Give yourself permission to feel what you feel, to miss who or what you’ve lost, and to take each day as it comes. God isn’t asking you to rush through your grief.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
If You Need Hope
Disappointment has a way of making us afraid to hope again.
But what didn’t happen, what went wrong, or what you’ve lost doesn’t mean God is finished. There is still more ahead.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.” — Romans 15:13
Before You Go...
Maybe you came here needing peace and realized you needed hope too.
Maybe you thought you needed strength, but what you really needed was permission to grieve.
Maybe one sentence stopped you in your tracks.
Take it.
Screenshot it. Write it on a sticky note. Put the Scripture in your Notes app. Come back to this post later in the week when Monday’s encouragement has worn off. 😂
Whatever you do, don’t leave the word here.
Take what you need with you.
Let’s Pray.
God,
You know exactly what the person reading this needs—even when they don’t have the words for it.
Give peace where there’s anxiety. Comfort where there’s pain. Joy where life has become heavy. Love where there is loneliness. Strength where there is a battle. Confidence where there has been defeat. Comfort those who are grieving, and restore hope where disappointment has settled in.
Meet each of us exactly where we are this week.
And remind us that whatever we need, we can find it in You.
Amen. 🤍
