You forgot about me?

You forgot about me?

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5:6 -7 (NIV)

I don’t know about anyone else, but this feels like a season of waiting for me. Waiting for a job in my field, waiting to move out of my parents' house, waiting for my life to "start," so to speak. Waiting can make the journey feel so much longer, especially when it seems like everyone else is doing the very things you wish you could be doing. Let’s be honest—waiting isn’t fun. But when you’re waiting on God, you can trust that it will always be worth it. He never just meets our expectations—He exceeds them.

I don’t want to make this blog too long, but I felt the need to encourage someone today. Whatever you’re waiting for—whether it’s a breakthrough, an opportunity, or a change in your circumstances—trust that it will be worth the wait.

As I was reading 1 Peter 5:6, I was reminded that God hasn’t forgotten about me. The verse tells us that at the right time, God will lift us up. But while we wait, it’s important to remain humble and content. Yes, waiting can be hard, and sometimes worry tries to creep in, but verse 7 reminds us to “cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you.” And if that wasn’t enough, Luke 12:25-26 hits home: “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” (NIV).

I know worrying can sometimes feel like the easier thing to do—it’s comfortable, even. But I challenge you to trust in God instead.

As the old folks say, “He may not come when you want Him, but He’s ALWAYS on time.” Trust Him, even when things don’t make sense. He knows the end from the beginning, and His timing is perfect.
