“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” - Hebrews 11:6
Hello Everyone,
Originally, I wrote my first blog (well mostly all my blogs) long before my actual website came about. As I began thinking about what I wanted my first blog to be about, I decided it would be beneficial to share with you guys a few things, including why I started this blog, the importance of building our faith, and why we should be in a daily relationship with God. Hopefully, you will gain a little more insight into why and how Matter of Faith came to be.
Why Matter of Faith?
I’ve been wanting to start a blog for quite some time, but never really had a solid idea of what I wanted to focus on. Because I’m more reserved I sometimes feel that people think I don’t have much to say; well I do. As I began seeking God for a closer relationship with him, things kind of just started coming together. Before even creating my website, I told myself to just focus on writing blogs to see if I would be dedicated to it; let’s just say, I’ve written quite a lot of these past few months. More importantly, I want to know that I can’t be the only one going through this, whatever “this” is at the time. You’ll just have to read along and find out what I’m talking about as God and I are on this lifelong journey together. I’m learning a lot and leaning on him even more. Ultimately, I want to bring together a community of believers so we can: share our experiences with one another, share how we overcame, share what we are learning, some habits and practices that helped us along the way, and encourage each other.
Why do we need to build our faith?
The base scripture for Matter of Faith is Hebrews 11:6. This scripture tells us, without faith, there is nothing we can do to please God. Faith should be the foundation of our relationship with God. To believe that God exists alone takes faith, thus why everything else concerning our relationship with God must be built on faith. Having faith helps us to grow closer to God, teaches us to lean on him for everything, and teaches us to trust him even more. I’m convinced every area of our lives require faith; we can’t please God without it.
Why should we be in a daily relationship with God?
Well like any relationship we want to grow, daily communication is vital. If you were in a relationship with someone, but they only spoke to you every few months, do you think it would last long? Wouldn't you be upset, especially, if it was someone you really loved? Well that's how God feels, but I imagine worse. He’s invested in us, he loves us more than anybody, he has our best interest at heart, so the question should be why wouldn’t you want to be in a daily relationship with God?
Well guys, I’m so excited to see how this grows, but I’m more excited for Gods light to shine through my blog. Please share your thoughts, I'd love to hear.
